Surgical Technologist (Surg Tech)
Position Summary
Provide essential support to surgical teams by preparing the operating room, maintaining a sterile field, and assisting with surgical procedures. Ensure instruments, equipment, and supplies are available and handled safely throughout each procedure.
Responsibilities
- Prepare the operating room, instruments, equipment, and sterile supplies.
- Maintain sterile technique throughout surgical procedures.
- Pass instruments, sutures, and supplies to surgeons and assist with procedural needs.
- Perform accurate instrument, sponge, and needle counts.
- Assist with patient positioning, skin preparation, and draping.
- Handle and properly label surgical specimens.
- Follow infection-control and patient-safety standards.
- Clean, disinfect, and restock the operating room after procedures.
- Communicate effectively with surgeons, nurses, anesthesia staff, and other team members.
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program.
- Current Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) certification preferred/required as applicable.
- Previous operating room or surgical experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of sterile technique, surgical instruments, and procedures.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced surgical environment.
Pay Rate
$56.66 - $61.53/hour
