Position Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Surgical Technologist (Surg Tech) to support surgeons and the perioperative team during surgical procedures. The Surg Tech will prepare the operating room, maintain sterile technique, manage surgical instruments and supplies, and assist the surgical team in providing safe and efficient patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare operating rooms with sterile instruments, equipment, and surgical supplies.
- Establish and maintain a sterile field throughout surgical procedures.
- Pass instruments, sutures, sponges, and supplies to surgeons during procedures.
- Perform accurate instrument, sponge, and sharps counts.
- Prepare and inspect surgical instruments and equipment.
- Assist with patient positioning, skin preparation, draping, and specimen handling.
- Anticipate the needs of surgeons and other members of the surgical team.
- Clean, restock, and prepare operating rooms between procedures.
- Maintain accurate documentation as required.
- Follow infection prevention, patient safety, HIPAA, and facility policies.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and continuing education activities.
Required Qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program.
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential preferred or required based on facility requirements.
- Current BLS certification required.
- Minimum 1 year of recent Operating Room or Surgical Technologist experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of sterile technique, surgical instrumentation, and perioperative procedures.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced surgical environment.
Pay Rate
$56.66 - $61.53/hour
