Sterile Processing Technician
Support safe patient care by cleaning, disinfecting, sterilizing, assembling, and preparing medical instruments and equipment for surgical and clinical use. The Sterile Processing Technician will ensure instruments are properly processed, inspected, and available when needed.
Responsibilities
- Clean, decontaminate, inspect, and sterilize surgical instruments and equipment.
- Assemble instrument trays and surgical sets according to established procedures.
- Operate sterilization and decontamination equipment safely.
- Inspect instruments for cleanliness, functionality, and damage.
- Prepare and distribute sterile supplies to operating rooms and clinical departments.
- Monitor sterilization indicators and maintain accurate processing records.
- Maintain inventory and restock sterile supplies as needed.
- Follow infection prevention, sterilization, and safety standards.
- Report equipment malfunctions or processing concerns promptly.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient sterile processing area.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous sterile processing or central sterile experience preferred.
- CRCST or CSPDT certification preferred or required as applicable.
- Knowledge of decontamination, sterilization, and infection prevention practices.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
Pay Rate
$17.00 - $17.00/hour
