Sterile Processing Technician (SPT) – Travel Contract
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Sterile Processing Technician (SPT) to join its Sterile Processing Department. The technician will be responsible for cleaning, decontaminating, inspecting, assembling, sterilizing, and distributing surgical instruments and medical equipment while ensuring compliance with infection control and patient safety standards.
Responsibilities
- Decontaminate, inspect, assemble, and sterilize surgical instruments and trays.
- Operate sterilization equipment and monitor sterilization processes.
- Maintain accurate documentation of sterilization records and inventory.
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies, infection prevention standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Identify damaged instruments and coordinate repairs or replacements.
- Prepare case carts and instrument sets for surgical procedures.
- Collaborate with surgical services and clinical staff to ensure equipment availability.
Requirements
- Minimum recent experience as a Sterile Processing Technician preferred.
- Knowledge of instrument decontamination, assembly, sterilization, and storage procedures.
- Familiarity with infection control and patient safety standards.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced hospital environment.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Certification in Sterile Processing (CRCST, CSPDT, or equivalent) preferred.
Pay Rate
$50.71 - $55.59/hour
