Position Summary:
We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Staff Registered Nurse (RN) – Maternity to provide comprehensive nursing care to mothers and newborns throughout labor, delivery, postpartum recovery, and newborn care. The Maternity RN will collaborate with physicians, midwives, pediatricians, and the interdisciplinary healthcare team to ensure safe, high-quality, family-centered care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess, monitor, and provide nursing care for antepartum, labor, postpartum, and newborn patients.
- Monitor maternal and fetal well-being and recognize changes requiring immediate intervention.
- Administer medications, IV therapies, blood products, and treatments as prescribed.
- Assist with labor, delivery, postpartum recovery, and newborn care.
- Perform newborn assessments and monitor infant health and development.
- Support and educate mothers on breastfeeding, newborn care, postpartum recovery, and discharge planning.
- Respond promptly to obstetric and neonatal emergencies.
- Maintain accurate documentation in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR).
- Collaborate with obstetricians, pediatricians, midwives, lactation consultants, and other healthcare professionals.
- Ensure compliance with infection prevention protocols, HIPAA regulations, patient safety standards, and facility policies.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and continuing education activities.
Required Qualifications:
- Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
- Graduate of an accredited Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program.
- Current BLS certification required.
- Current ACLS certification required.
- Current NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification required.
- Minimum 1 year of recent Maternity, Labor & Delivery, Mother/Baby, or Women's Health nursing experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of maternal-newborn nursing, fetal monitoring, postpartum care, and neonatal assessment.
- Excellent communication, critical-thinking, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Experience with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems preferred.
Pay Rate
$52.85 - $57.72/hour
