Position Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Staff Registered Nurse (RN) to join the Emergency Department. The RN will provide rapid assessment, stabilization, and treatment for patients with acute illnesses, injuries, and life-threatening conditions while collaborating with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to deliver safe, timely, and patient-centered emergency care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform rapid patient assessments and prioritize care using established triage protocols.
- Provide direct nursing care for patients with medical, surgical, traumatic, and emergency conditions.
- Administer medications, IV therapies, blood products, and emergency treatments as prescribed.
- Monitor patient conditions, cardiac rhythms, vital signs, and response to treatment.
- Assist physicians during trauma resuscitations, emergency procedures, and life-saving interventions.
- Operate and monitor emergency equipment, including cardiac monitors, defibrillators, infusion pumps, and ventilators.
- Recognize and respond promptly to changes in patient condition and emergency situations.
- Coordinate patient admissions, transfers, and discharges as appropriate.
- Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans, medications, follow-up care, and discharge instructions.
- Maintain accurate documentation in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR).
- Collaborate with emergency physicians, specialists, EMS personnel, respiratory therapists, and other healthcare professionals.
- Ensure compliance with infection prevention protocols, HIPAA regulations, patient safety standards, and facility policies.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and continuing education activities.
Required Qualifications:
- Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
- Graduate of an accredited Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program.
- Current BLS certification required.
- Current ACLS certification required.
- Current PALS certification required or obtained per facility guidelines.
- TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) certification preferred or required based on facility requirements.
- Minimum 1 year of recent Emergency Department, Trauma, or Critical Care nursing experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of emergency nursing, trauma care, cardiac monitoring, medication administration, and critical care principles.
- Excellent communication, critical-thinking, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Experience with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems preferred.
Pay Rate
$52.85 - $57.72/hour
