Position Summary:

We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Staff Registered Nurse (RN) to provide high-quality nursing care in a Surgical Medical-Surgical/Progressive Care Unit (Med/Surg-PCU). The RN will care for post-surgical and medically complex patients requiring telemetry and intermediate-level monitoring while collaborating with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to ensure safe, effective, and patient-centered care.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform comprehensive patient assessments and develop individualized nursing care plans.
  • Provide direct nursing care to post-operative, medical-surgical, and progressive care patients.
  • Monitor patient conditions, cardiac rhythms, vital signs, and response to treatment.
  • Administer medications, IV therapies, blood products, and other prescribed treatments.
  • Provide wound care, drain management, catheter care, and post-operative monitoring.
  • Recognize and respond promptly to changes in patient condition and medical emergencies.
  • Educate patients and families regarding medications, treatment plans, recovery, and discharge instructions.
  • Maintain accurate documentation in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR).
  • Collaborate with physicians, surgeons, case managers, therapists, pharmacists, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care.
  • Ensure compliance with infection prevention protocols, HIPAA regulations, patient safety standards, and facility policies.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and continuing education activities.

Required Qualifications:

  • Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
  • Graduate of an accredited Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program.
  • Current BLS certification required.
  • Current ACLS certification required or obtained within facility guidelines.
  • Minimum 1 year of recent Medical-Surgical, Progressive Care (PCU), Step-Down, Telemetry, or Surgical nursing experience preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of post-operative care, telemetry monitoring, medication administration, patient assessment, and care planning.
  • Excellent communication, critical-thinking, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems preferred.

Pay Rate
$52.85 - $57.72/hour
