Position Summary:

We are seeking a knowledgeable and customer-focused Staff Pharmacist – Retail Pharmacy to provide safe, accurate, and efficient pharmaceutical care. The Staff Pharmacist will verify and dispense medications, counsel patients, administer immunizations, oversee pharmacy operations, and collaborate with healthcare providers to promote optimal patient outcomes.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Review, verify, and accurately dispense prescription medications in accordance with physician orders and state and federal regulations
  • Evaluate prescriptions for accuracy, drug interactions, allergies, contraindications, and appropriate dosing
  • Counsel patients on medication use, side effects, storage, adherence, and disease management
  • Administer immunizations and other clinical pharmacy services as permitted by state regulations
  • Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare providers to optimize medication therapy
  • Supervise and support pharmacy technicians and ancillary staff to ensure efficient workflow
  • Maintain accurate patient medication records and documentation in the pharmacy management system
  • Manage controlled substances, medication inventory, ordering, storage, and expiration monitoring
  • Resolve insurance claims, prior authorizations, and medication-related issues as needed
  • Ensure compliance with state and federal pharmacy regulations, HIPAA, DEA, USP standards, and company policies
  • Participate in medication safety initiatives, quality improvement activities, and continuing education

Required Qualifications:

  • Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) or Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from an accredited program
  • Active, unrestricted Pharmacist license in the state of practice
  • Current immunization certification where required
  • Minimum 1 year of recent retail pharmacy experience preferred
  • Strong knowledge of pharmacotherapy, medication safety, pharmacy law, and patient counseling
  • Experience with pharmacy management software and Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems preferred
  • Excellent communication, customer service, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to prioritize workload and work efficiently in a fast-paced retail environment

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in community, retail, outpatient, or specialty pharmacy settings
  • Medication Therapy Management (MTM) certification or experience preferred
  • Board Certification (BCPS, BCACP, or other specialty certification) preferred
  • Previous travel or contract pharmacy experience preferred
  • Experience administering a wide range of adult and pediatric immunizations
  • Strong commitment to patient-centered care and customer service excellence

Licensure / Certifications:

  • Active Pharmacist license required
  • Current Immunization Certification required or preferred based on state regulations
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred
  • Board certification (BCPS, BCACP, or other pharmacy specialty certification) preferred based on facility requirements

Pay Rate
$68.39 - $73.27/hour
