Position Summary:
We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients with speech, language, voice, cognitive-communication, and swallowing disorders. The SLP will develop individualized treatment plans and work collaboratively with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to improve communication, swallowing function, and overall quality of life.
Key Responsibilities:
- Evaluate patients with speech, language, cognitive-communication, voice, and swallowing disorders
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on patient needs and goals
- Provide therapy to improve communication, cognitive function, and swallowing abilities
- Perform swallowing evaluations and recommend appropriate diet modifications when necessary
- Educate patients, families, and caregivers on treatment plans, communication strategies, and home exercise programs
- Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as needed
- Document evaluations, treatment sessions, progress notes, and discharge summaries in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR)
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, occupational therapists, physical therapists, dietitians, and other healthcare professionals
- Follow infection prevention protocols, HIPAA regulations, patient safety standards, and facility policies
- Participate in interdisciplinary care planning, quality improvement initiatives, and continuing education activities
Required Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program
- Active, unrestricted Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) license in the state of practice
- Current Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) through ASHA preferred or required based on facility requirements
- Current BLS certification required
- Minimum 1 year of recent speech-language pathology experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of speech, language, cognitive-communication, and dysphagia evaluation and treatment
- Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
- Experience with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems preferred
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in acute care, inpatient rehabilitation, outpatient therapy, skilled nursing, home health, pediatric, or adult rehabilitation settings
- Experience with Modified Barium Swallow Studies (MBSS) or Fiberoptic Endoscopic Evaluation of Swallowing (FEES) preferred
- Previous travel or contract therapy experience preferred
- Strong teamwork, adaptability, and patient education skills
- Ability to manage a diverse patient caseload in a fast-paced healthcare environment
Pay Rate
$68.09 - $72.97/hour
