Special Education Teacher
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Education Teacher to support students with diverse learning needs and abilities. The Special Education Teacher will develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs), adapt curriculum to meet student needs, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, and foster an inclusive learning environment that promotes academic, social, and emotional growth.
Responsibilities:
• Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in compliance with state and federal regulations
• Assess student abilities and learning needs to design appropriate instructional strategies
• Provide differentiated instruction and specialized support to students with disabilities
• Collaborate with general education teachers, therapists, counselors, and support staff
• Monitor and document student progress toward IEP goals
• Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress and needs
• Maintain accurate and compliant educational records and documentation
• Implement behavior intervention plans and classroom management strategies
• Support students’ social, emotional, and functional skill development
• Participate in IEP meetings, staff meetings, and professional development activities
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or related field required; Master’s degree preferred
• Active and valid state Special Education teaching certification
• Experience working with students with disabilities in a classroom or educational setting preferred
• Knowledge of IEP development, special education laws, and instructional best practices
• Strong communication, organizational, and collaboration skills
• Patience, flexibility, and a student-centered approach to teaching
• Ability to create a supportive, inclusive, and structured learning environment
Pay Rate
$56.48 - $61.36/hour
