Position Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Sonographer (Ultrasound Technologist) to perform diagnostic ultrasound examinations that assist physicians in evaluating and diagnosing a variety of medical conditions. The Sonographer will operate ultrasound equipment, ensure patient comfort, and produce high-quality diagnostic images while maintaining the highest standards of patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform high-quality diagnostic ultrasound examinations according to physician orders and established protocols
- Prepare patients for procedures and explain examination processes to ensure comfort and cooperation
- Operate, adjust, and maintain ultrasound equipment to obtain optimal diagnostic images
- Evaluate image quality and ensure accurate documentation of examination findings
- Recognize and report abnormal findings to the interpreting physician
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR)
- Follow infection prevention, patient safety, and quality assurance standards
- Collaborate with radiologists, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to support patient care
- Maintain ultrasound equipment and ensure proper care of imaging supplies
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and continuing education activities
Required Qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography program
- Current certification through the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) or equivalent credential required
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred
- Minimum 1 year of recent sonography experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of ultrasound imaging techniques, anatomy, and patient care practices
- Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced clinical environment
Pay Rate
$60.47 - $65.35/hour
