Position Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Diagnostic Medical Sonographer to perform high-quality ultrasound examinations that assist physicians in diagnosing and treating a variety of medical conditions. The Sonographer will ensure patient safety and comfort, operate ultrasound equipment, and collaborate with the healthcare team to provide accurate and timely diagnostic imaging services.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform diagnostic ultrasound examinations according to physician orders and established imaging protocols
  • Prepare, position, and educate patients for ultrasound procedures while ensuring comfort and safety
  • Operate ultrasound equipment to obtain high-quality diagnostic images
  • Perform abdominal, OB/GYN, pelvic, vascular, breast, small parts, and other ultrasound examinations as assigned
  • Evaluate image quality and ensure complete examinations before submission for physician interpretation
  • Recognize and communicate significant or abnormal findings according to department protocols
  • Maintain accurate documentation in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR), RIS, and PACS
  • Perform routine quality control and report equipment malfunctions promptly
  • Collaborate with radiologists, physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care
  • Ensure compliance with infection prevention protocols, HIPAA regulations, patient safety standards, and facility policies
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and continuing education activities

Required Qualifications:

  • Graduate of an accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography program
  • Active state licensure where required
  • Current ARDMS, ARRT (Sonography), or equivalent certification required
  • Current BLS certification required
  • Minimum 1 year of recent diagnostic sonography experience preferred
  • Strong knowledge of sonographic anatomy, physiology, scanning techniques, and image optimization
  • Experience with PACS, RIS, and Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems preferred
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and patient care skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in acute care hospitals, outpatient imaging centers, emergency departments, or women's health facilities
  • Additional ARDMS certifications such as Abdomen (AB), OB/GYN, RVT, Breast (BR), or Pediatric Sonography preferred
  • Previous travel or contract imaging experience preferred
  • Experience performing multiple ultrasound specialties
  • Strong teamwork, adaptability, and ability to work in a fast-paced healthcare environment
  • Ability to work flexible shifts, weekends, holidays, and on-call schedules as required

Pay Rate
$83.58 - $88.46/hour
