Position Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Sonographer to perform diagnostic ultrasound examinations and provide high-quality imaging services to patients. The Sonographer will operate ultrasound equipment, obtain diagnostic-quality images, assist physicians with accurate assessments, and ensure patient comfort and safety throughout the imaging process. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong technical skills, clinical knowledge, and the ability to work collaboratively with healthcare teams.
Key Responsibilities:
• Perform diagnostic ultrasound examinations according to physician orders and established protocols
• Prepare patients for procedures by explaining exams, positioning patients, and ensuring comfort and safety
• Operate ultrasound equipment to obtain high-quality diagnostic images
• Adjust equipment settings and imaging techniques to optimize image quality
• Review images for accuracy, completeness, and technical quality before submission for interpretation
• Document patient information, procedures performed, and exam findings according to department standards
• Maintain patient confidentiality and follow HIPAA guidelines
• Assist physicians and healthcare providers with diagnostic imaging needs
• Monitor patients during procedures and respond appropriately to patient concerns or changes in condition
• Maintain ultrasound equipment and report technical issues as needed
• Follow infection prevention, safety, and regulatory standards
• Collaborate with radiologists, physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals
• Maintain accurate records using electronic medical records (EMR), PACS, and imaging systems
• Provide compassionate patient care and professional communication throughout the imaging process
Required Qualifications:
• Completion of an accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography program
• Active ARDMS certification required/preferred based on facility requirements
• Current BLS certification required
• Minimum 1–2 years of recent Sonographer experience preferred
• Strong knowledge of ultrasound procedures, anatomy, imaging techniques, and patient care practices
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong attention to detail and ability to produce accurate diagnostic images
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team
• Experience with PACS, RIS, and electronic medical record (EMR) systems preferred
Pay Rate
$71.69 - $76.57/hour
