Position Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Speech-Language Pathologist to evaluate and treat patients with communication, cognitive, voice, and swallowing disorders. The SLP will develop individualized treatment plans, provide evidence-based therapy, educate patients and caregivers, and collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive speech, language, cognitive, voice, and swallowing evaluations.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on patient needs and goals.
- Provide therapy to improve speech, language, communication, cognition, and swallowing function.
- Assess and treat dysphagia and recommend appropriate dietary modifications when indicated.
- Provide patient and caregiver education regarding therapy, exercises, communication strategies, and safety.
- Monitor patient progress and modify treatment plans as appropriate.
- Recommend and train patients in appropriate augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) strategies when needed.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, occupational therapists, physical therapists, and other healthcare professionals.
- Participate in care planning, discharge planning, and interdisciplinary meetings.
- Maintain accurate and timely evaluations, treatment notes, progress reports, and discharge documentation.
- Follow infection prevention, HIPAA, patient safety, and organizational policies.
Required Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) through ASHA or eligibility as applicable.
- Active Speech-Language Pathologist license in the state of practice.
- Current BLS certification required.
- Minimum 1 year of recent SLP experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of speech, language, cognitive, and swallowing disorders.
- Excellent clinical judgment, communication, organization, and patient-care skills.
- Experience with EMR systems preferred.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in acute care, inpatient rehabilitation, outpatient, skilled nursing, home health, or pediatric settings.
- Experience with dysphagia, cognitive-communication disorders, aphasia, and neurological conditions.
- Experience with Modified Barium Swallow Studies (MBSS) or FEES preferred where applicable.
- Strong patient and caregiver education skills.
- Experience with AAC and alternative communication strategies.
- Commitment to compassionate, patient-centered care.
Pay Rate
$60.47 - $65.35/hour
