Position Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and adaptable Rural ICU/Med-Surg Registered Nurse (RN) to provide high-quality care for critically ill and medical-surgical patients in a rural healthcare setting. The RN will perform comprehensive assessments, administer treatments, monitor patient conditions, and collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to ensure safe, effective, and compassionate patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct nursing care for ICU and Medical-Surgical patients based on clinical needs
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments and develop individualized care plans
- Administer medications, IV therapies, blood products, and other prescribed treatments
- Monitor patient conditions and respond promptly to changes requiring intervention
- Operate and monitor critical care equipment, including cardiac monitors and infusion pumps
- Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary healthcare teams to coordinate patient care
- Educate patients and families on treatment plans, medications, and discharge instructions
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR)
- Ensure compliance with infection prevention, patient safety, and regulatory standards
- Assist with emergency response, stabilization, and patient transfers when necessary
Required Qualifications:
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ASN or BSN preferred)
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications
- Minimum 1 year of recent ICU and/or Medical-Surgical nursing experience preferred
- Strong clinical assessment, critical-thinking, and emergency response skills
- Ability to work independently in a rural, fast-paced healthcare environment
- Excellent communication, teamwork, and organizational skills
Pay Rate
$56.66 - $61.53/hour
