Job Description

Job Summary:
-Performs independent nursing functions and delegated medical functions in accordance with accepted practice standards as defined by the state Board of Nursing.
-Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates nursing care.
-Evaluates health status through the ongoing collection and assessment of health data.
-Performs health teaching and health counseling.
-Provides therapy and treatment that is supportive and restorative to life and well-being either directly to the patient or indirectly through consultation with, delegation to, supervision of, or teaching of others.
-Executes delegated medical functions.
-Refers patients as needed for further evaluation or treatment.
-Reviews and monitors therapy and treatment plans.
-Documents in accordance with hospital and regulatory guidelines.
-Uses resources as needed.
-Promotes mission, vision, and values of SCL Health, and abides by service behavior standards.
-Performs other duties as assigned.
-May be required to float to other departments (within scope of competency and qualifications) based on business need.
-May be required to be placed on-call during a regularly scheduled shift.

Education Requirement

Required Education:
-ASN - Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing is required.
Preferred Education:
-Bachelor's degree of Nursing is preferred.
Required Certifications & Licensure:
-Current license as a Registered Nurse in the state of practice is required.
-BLS - American Heart Association.
-(ACLS/NRP/PALS as appropriate for unit or service.)

Schedule Notes
============
oShift: 3-12hr Nights / 1900-0730
oWeekends: Max is 8 weekend shifts in an 8-week period, could be less depending on staffing. Weekend shifts from 0700-1930 are Saturday and Sunday, weekend shifts for 1900-0730 is Friday and Saturday nights. Usually about 5-6 in an 8-week period
oOn Call: No scheduled call shifts. You may be placed on call should the hospital not need you that night/at the beginning of the shift
oExperience/Skills:
1 years of experience, telemetry or higher experience
EKG competency and rhythm interpretation
oLicense/Certifications:
RN License – Single State or Compact RN License
oCertifications:
BLS (AHA) – Required
ACLS (AHA) – Required
NIHSS – Required
oAdditional Details: 32 bed unit, average 3-5 patients depending on acuity and shift, we use Epic for documentation and UKG Pro/Kronos for timekeeping and schedule, floating is based on date, contract 13 weeks
