Registered Nurse (RN) – General Surgery OR
We are seeking an experienced Operating Room RN to provide safe and effective nursing care during general surgical procedures. The RN will prepare patients and the surgical environment, coordinate with the surgical team, and maintain high standards of patient safety and sterile practice.
Responsibilities:
- Assess and prepare patients for surgical procedures.
- Prepare the operating room, equipment, instruments, and supplies.
- Provide circulating or scrub support as assigned.
- Maintain sterile technique and follow infection prevention standards.
- Monitor patient condition, vital signs, and safety throughout procedures.
- Assist surgeons, anesthesia providers, and other members of the surgical team.
- Perform and verify surgical counts according to established protocols.
- Prepare and handle specimens appropriately.
- Complete accurate surgical documentation and communicate patient information.
- Respond to emergencies and changes in patient condition.
- Maintain a safe, organized, and efficient operating room environment.
Qualifications:
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
- Operating Room, General Surgery, or perioperative experience preferred.
- Knowledge of surgical procedures, sterile technique, infection prevention, and patient safety.
- Strong clinical judgment, assessment, and critical-thinking skills.
- Excellent communication, organization, and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced surgical environment.
- Dependable, professional, detail-oriented, and patient-focused.
Pay Rate
$52.85 - $57.72/hour
