Position Summary:
We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Registered Nurse (RN) – Respiratory Unit to provide specialized nursing care for patients with acute and chronic respiratory conditions. The RN will assess patient needs, administer treatments, monitor respiratory status, and collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to deliver safe, high-quality, patient-centered care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments with a focus on respiratory status
- Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized nursing care plans
- Administer medications, IV therapies, oxygen therapy, and prescribed respiratory treatments
- Monitor respiratory function, vital signs, pulse oximetry, and arterial blood gas (ABG) results
- Care for patients requiring CPAP, BiPAP, high-flow oxygen therapy, and mechanical ventilation as appropriate
- Collaborate with respiratory therapists, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care
- Educate patients and families on respiratory conditions, medications, breathing techniques, and discharge planning
- Respond promptly to respiratory emergencies and changes in patient condition
- Maintain accurate documentation in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR)
- Ensure compliance with infection prevention protocols, HIPAA regulations, patient safety standards, and facility policies
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and continuing education activities
Required Qualifications:
- Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice
- Graduate of an accredited Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program
- Current BLS certification required
- ACLS certification preferred or required based on assignment
- Minimum 1 year of recent acute care nursing experience, preferably in respiratory, pulmonary, telemetry, step-down, or medical-surgical units
- Strong knowledge of respiratory diseases, oxygen delivery systems, ventilator support, and respiratory medications
- Excellent communication, critical-thinking, organizational, and interpersonal skills
- Experience with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems preferred
Pay Rate
$52.85 - $57.72/hour
