**MED SOL PROFILE REVIEW - MANAGER INTERIVEW**
Unit IR - RN
# suites/labs "2 IR suites- neuro shares hybrid room with cath lab.
Body, PA and neuro "
#cases per day on average 8 on average
Required Certifications (i.e., BLS, ACLS?) BLS, ACLS, PALS (not a lot of peds cases- more school aged and teens but PALS is a firm requirement
Common diagnoses/Types of patients "embolization, y90, neuro, carotid stents, stroke, epistaxis, neph tubes, nephroureteral stent placement, ports, trans-jugular liver biopsy, g tube, gj tube placement, AVF (fistulas), assist with paracentesis, cardiac CT, CT abcess drains, bone marrow, dislysis, will go to MRI to watch PM.
Mostly adults or 18 . Rare peds; 16-17 year olds. Or sometimes will see kids 12 for cardiac scans but they get oral versed"
Job Duties "Preop, intra op and post op IR procedures (RN follows all the way through)
IV starts, nurse sedation"
Experience or 'Must have' skills "2 years of IR experience
Must have Neuro (strokes and carotids) and Nurse sedation experience
Need experience with IV insertion
Ok with first time travelers"
EMR/Equipment Epic; Phillips
Interventionalist hours/on call In house during the day on call at night
Manager/Charge Nurse Charge nurse, Nurse Manager and Medical Imaging supervisor
Shifts & Scheduling (Do you allow self-scheduling? Block scheduling?) "RNs: 4-10 hr shifts, core staff are scheduled first and then travelers are added to the schedule
Call is optional "
Weeknight/Call Requirements Optional; 530p-7a
Weekend/Call Requirements Optional; Friday 530p- Monday 7a. Can pick up hours from someone else but would not have to do the entire weekend
Holiday/Call Requirements Optional; Call only
What is call response time? 30 minutes
Floating Requirements RN pain management one time a week- pre/post only and would receive a separate orientation.
Scrub Color/Dress Code "Hospital provided scrubs- on the shelf,
Required to change when they get there. Shoes stay at work. "
Unit/Department specific orientation 2-3 shifts of orientation
Additional Notes Leaders feel that is great area for outdoor activities year round. Their providers are younger and are great to work with.
Pay Rate
$74.41 - $79.28/hour
