Department: Med-Tele | RN
*Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS.*
- # Beds: 40 beds (8 bed holding for tele- larger room separated by curtains) only 2 single rooms for negative pressure
isolation.
- Nurse: Patient Ratios: MS 1:5 Tele 1:4
- Required certifications: BLS ALCS
- Common diagnoses: General med surg, COPD, CHF, Pneumonia, asthma, diabetics, etc., some general surgical Some
psych patients from Fulton- with daily eval until cleared.
- Experience: Must Have Teamwork and follow facility policies. Okay with first time travelers.
- Are RNs required to titrate drips? No
- Common titratable: Heparin.
- Tele/monitor techs: RN to read an interpret tele, no techs on this unit.
- Charge Nurse: Charge RN do take a lighter assignment, and house supervisor in house and off shift managers.
- Nurse aids: PCT: ADLS, vitals, EKGs etc. CNA for 1:1 psych.
- RT Equipment: Nasal Cannulas, Bipaps occasionally RT to maintain.
- Shifts & Scheduling: 7-7:30. Facility will do their best to accommodate requests, but ask travelers to stay flexible and fill
gaps in permanent scheduling; do not guarantee block scheduling. Excessive call-ins are taken seriously and could lead
to termination.
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend.
- Holiday Requirement: May be asked to go into the Holiday Rotation.
- Is there Call or a Standby requirement?: No
- Floating Requirements? If other units have higher need, other MS, tele units within their skillset.
- Scrub Color: Royal Blue
- Unit Specific Orientation: 1 day of unit orientation.
