Nurse:Patient Ratios 1:5
Required Certifications (i.e., BLS, ACLS?) BLS ACLS
Common diagnosis / Types of patients: General Med/Surg, COPD, DM, CHF, Oncology/Chemo, Pneumonia, ESRD, asthma, polysubstance abuse, psych, etc.
Experience or 'Must have' skills: Med/Surg experience
Are RN's required to titrate drips? No
Is there a Charge Nurse &/or House Supervisor on each shift? Does the charge nurse take an assignment? There is an ANCC/charge nurse each shift. When feasible, they take a reduced assignment.
Are there nurse aids/patient care techs on this unit? Ratios? Duties? Yes – PCTs/CNAs (ADLs, vital signs EKGs{PCTs only}, constant observations
RT Equipment (Vents, Cpap, BiPap, High Flow, etc.) Are RNs required to do anything with these besides trouble shoot? Nasal Cannula, Highflow
Are there Tele/Monitor Techs on this unit? Are RN's required to read their own strips? What brand are the tele monitors? N/A
Shifts & Scheduling (Do you allow self-scheduling? Block scheduling?) Shifts are 7-7 The facility will do their best to accommodate request, but travelers must be flexible and fill gaps in permanent scheduling.
Weekend Requirements Every other weekend
Holiday Requirements May be asked to work some Holidays
Is there Call or a Standby requirement? No
Floating Requirements Yes, if there is a need on other med/surg units
Scrub Color/Dress Code/Scrubs Provided? Royal Blue scrubs, no artificial nails, no scrub caps
Unit/Department Specific Orientation 3 Days of classroom orientation and 1 day of unit orientation

Pay Rate
$66.76 - $71.64/hour
