RN - Ambulatory Radiation Oncology Clinic
This Registered Nurse (RN) position is responsible for delivering comprehensive, patient-centered care while adhering to professional nursing standards, ethical guidelines, and organizational policies. The RN assesses patients’ physical, emotional, and educational needs, develops and coordinates individualized care plans, administers treatments and medications, monitors patient progress, and collaborates closely with physicians, interdisciplinary teams, patients, and families. The role requires strong clinical judgment, critical thinking, and leadership skills to ensure quality outcomes, patient safety, effective discharge planning, and continuity of care. A current New York State RN license is required, with a BSN and specialty certification preferred.
In addition to direct patient care, the RN serves as an advocate, educator, and leader within the healthcare team. Responsibilities include maintaining accurate documentation, promoting evidence-based practice, supporting quality improvement initiatives, mentoring staff and students, participating in professional development activities, and upholding standards of professionalism, communication, teamwork, and customer service. The position also involves coordinating care delivery, contributing to performance improvement efforts, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements while maintaining competency through ongoing education and certification.
Provides specialized nursing care to oncology patients undergoing cancer treatment, including radiation therapy. Responsibilities include assessing and managing treatment-related side effects, educating patients and families on treatment plans and symptom management, monitoring patient responses to therapy, and collaborating with radiation oncologists and interdisciplinary teams to ensure safe, effective, and compassionate care. Demonstrates a commitment to patient advocacy, evidence-based practice, symptom management, and psychosocial support to optimize treatment outcomes and enhance quality of life throughout the cancer care continuum.
Pay Rate
$60.65 - $65.53/hour
