Department: ER | RN

- Trauma Level? STEMI Receiving? Stroke Center?: Free standing ER. Treat and ship STEMIs, strokes, traumas and anyone who needs
admitted.
- # of Beds/Trauma Bays: 14- 1 room is a trauma/resuscitation room.
- Do you have a Fast Track: No
- Do you have a separate Triage area: Yes, we have a separate area if needed when things get busy and then the charge will triage.
Typically patients will check in and go directly to a room and the triage is completed by the RN caring for them.
- Do you have a separate holding area in the ER or are ER holds intermixed w/in the ER: Intermixed
- Do you have separate Psych/seclusion rooms: Yes- safe room with all equipment secured behind doors only thing left is stretcher.
- Is Security in-house 24/7? Housed in the ER: Yes, we have them 24/7. Not housed in the ER.
- On average, how many patients do you treat in the ER/day: 40-50.
- Nurse:Patient Ratios: 1:04.
- Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, ENPC
- Common diagnoses/Types of patients: Peds to geriatrics. hospice, codes, strokes, STEMIs, abdominal pain, chest pain, respiratory, all
common ER patients.
- Experience or 'Must have' skills: Ok, with travelers that do not have stand alone experience. Ok with first time traveler. This is a very
small department so would like someone with good interpersonal skills, good communication skills, and who is not afraid to ask
questions.
- Common drips: Levophed, Diltiazem, Narcotics, Propofol.
- ED Physician &/or Mid-Levels staffed: 1 MD 24/7 and a Midlevel from 12p-2200.
- Is there a Charge Nurse on each shift: Charge RN 24/7- does not take an assignment and House supervisor available by phone.
- Are there nurse aids/EMT/Paramedics/Patient Sitters on each shift: CNA 24/7, Vital signs, cleaning rooms, obtaining specimens
Unit Clerk 24/7.
- Is RT in the ER 24/7: RT 24/7, ABGs, Nebs, EKGs, CNA duties also.
- RT Equipment: Nasal cannula to vents, RT will manage and troubleshoot.
- Do you have Tele/Monitor Techs in the ER: RNs are required to read and interpret strips. SpaceLab monitors.
- X-Ray or CT in the ER: We have XR, CT, MRI, PVL, Ultrasound. Imaging will transport unless time sensitive/emergent or patient is
critical.
- Does Phlebotomy draw labs or RNs draw: Both.
- Shifts & Scheduling: 12 hour shifts. 0730-2000, 10-2230, 1300-0130, 1930-0800. Schedule 6 weeks at a time. Modified self scheduling,
travelers can sign up for shifts and the AMN will balance the schedule- do try to group night shifts together. First schedule travelers
will fill in the holes.
- Weekend Requirements: as needed
- Holiday Requirements: holiday rotation- will fill in where there is a need.
- Is there call or a standby requirement: No
- Floating Requirements: No
- Scrub Color/Dress Code: Any color as long as clean and professional.
- How many shifts of unit/department specific orientation: One 8 to 12 hour shift in addition to general orientation.
- Additional Notes: This is a small department with a good culture, the whole facility is a small campus

**This facility has a radius rule of 50 miles. To ensure adherence to this rule, we will require the candidates' perm address in the submittal to confirm they are outside of that specified radius before proceeding with the profile review.**
