RN – PICU (Pediatric Intensive Care Unit)
Position Summary
Provide specialized nursing care to critically ill pediatric patients requiring intensive monitoring and complex medical interventions. Support patients and families while collaborating with the multidisciplinary care team.
Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive assessments and continuously monitor pediatric patients.
- Administer medications, IV therapies, blood products, and treatments as ordered.
- Monitor vital signs, cardiac rhythms, oxygenation, and other critical parameters.
- Manage ventilators, oxygen therapy, lines, drains, and other critical-care equipment as applicable.
- Recognize and respond promptly to changes in patient condition and emergencies.
- Assist with procedures, resuscitation, and stabilization of critically ill children.
- Provide age-appropriate care and education to patients and families.
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation and follow infection-control and safety standards.
- Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, and other healthcare professionals.
Qualifications
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
- PICU, pediatric ICU, or critical-care experience preferred.
- BLS and PALS required; ACLS preferred/required as applicable.
- Strong pediatric assessment, critical-thinking, and decision-making skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced critical-care environment.
Pay Rate
$70.33 - $75.20/hour
