Position Summary:

We are seeking an experienced PICU Registered Nurse to provide specialized care to critically ill and medically complex pediatric patients. The RN will continuously monitor patients, administer medications and treatments, manage advanced therapies, respond to emergencies, and collaborate with the multidisciplinary care team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform comprehensive assessments of critically ill pediatric patients.
  • Continuously monitor vital signs, cardiac rhythms, oxygenation, neurological status, and other clinical parameters.
  • Administer medications, IV therapies, blood products, and prescribed treatments.
  • Manage and monitor central lines, arterial lines, drains, and other critical-care devices.
  • Provide care for pediatric patients requiring ventilatory, respiratory, and hemodynamic support.
  • Recognize clinical deterioration and respond promptly to emergencies.
  • Assist with procedures, resuscitation, and advanced life-support interventions.
  • Monitor laboratory and diagnostic results and communicate significant changes.
  • Provide pain management and support patient comfort.
  • Educate and support patients' families regarding treatment plans and care needs.
  • Collaborate with intensivists, physicians, respiratory therapists, pharmacists, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the EMR.
  • Follow infection prevention, HIPAA, patient safety, and pediatric critical-care protocols.

Required Qualifications:

  • Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
  • ADN or BSN from an accredited nursing program.
  • Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required.
  • Minimum 1 year of recent PICU or pediatric critical-care experience preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of pediatric assessment, critical care, medication administration, and emergency response.
  • Excellent clinical judgment, critical-thinking, communication, and prioritization skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a high-acuity, fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with EMR systems preferred.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • BSN preferred.
  • Previous PICU, pediatric ICU, or pediatric critical-care experience.
  • Experience with mechanical ventilation, vasoactive medications, and advanced monitoring.
  • Experience caring for post-operative, respiratory, cardiac, neurological, and medically complex pediatric patients.
  • PALS certification required.
  • Strong family-centered care and communication skills.
  • Commitment to compassionate, patient-centered pediatric care

Pay Rate
$70.33 - $75.20/hour
