RN – Perianesthesia (PACU)
Provide specialized nursing care to patients before and after anesthesia and surgical procedures. The Perianesthesia RN will monitor patients during recovery, manage pain and airway needs, identify complications, and ensure safe transition to the next level of care.
Responsibilities
- Assess and monitor patients before and after anesthesia.
- Monitor vital signs, cardiac rhythm, oxygenation, airway, and level of consciousness.
- Manage pain, nausea, and other post-anesthesia symptoms.
- Administer medications, IV fluids, and prescribed treatments.
- Recognize and respond promptly to airway, respiratory, cardiovascular, and other complications.
- Assist with patient stabilization and emergency interventions as needed.
- Provide discharge instructions and education to patients and caregivers.
- Communicate patient status and handoff information to the healthcare team.
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation.
- Follow anesthesia recovery, infection control, and patient safety standards.
Qualifications
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
- Previous PACU, perianesthesia, critical care, or emergency nursing experience preferred.
- Strong assessment, airway management, and critical-thinking skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Ability to respond effectively to rapidly changing patient conditions.
Pay Rate
$77.24 - $82.11/hour
