RN – Outpatient Hematology/Oncology
Position Summary
Provide compassionate nursing care to patients receiving outpatient hematology and oncology services. Administer treatments, monitor patient responses, provide education, and coordinate care to support safe and effective cancer treatment.
Responsibilities
- Perform patient assessments and monitor vital signs and clinical condition.
- Administer chemotherapy, immunotherapy, medications, and IV treatments as prescribed.
- Monitor patients for treatment reactions and respond to adverse events.
- Provide patient and family education regarding treatments, medications, and side effects.
- Manage central lines, ports, and other vascular access devices as appropriate.
- Review laboratory results and communicate abnormal findings to providers.
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation.
- Coordinate care with oncologists, pharmacists, and the healthcare team.
- Follow medication safety, infection-control, and oncology care standards.
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
- Current and active RN license in the applicable state.
- Previous hematology/oncology or infusion nursing experience preferred.
- BLS certification required; chemotherapy/biotherapy certification preferred or as applicable.
- Strong clinical assessment, communication, organization, and patient-care skills.
Pay Rate
$64.28 - $69.16/hour
