Position Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) – Operating Room (OR) to provide comprehensive perioperative nursing care before, during, and after surgical procedures. The OR RN will collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, surgical technologists, and the interdisciplinary healthcare team to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality patient care throughout the surgical experience.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct nursing care throughout the perioperative process.
  • Prepare operating rooms with necessary equipment, instruments, and sterile supplies.
  • Verify patient identity, surgical procedure, and surgical site according to established safety protocols.
  • Assist with patient positioning, skin preparation, and maintenance of a sterile surgical environment.
  • Function as the circulating nurse during surgical procedures.
  • Monitor patient condition throughout surgery and respond promptly to changes.
  • Administer medications, IV fluids, blood products, and treatments as prescribed.
  • Maintain accurate intraoperative documentation in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR).
  • Coordinate care with surgeons, anesthesiologists, surgical technologists, PACU staff, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Ensure compliance with AORN standards, infection prevention protocols, HIPAA regulations, and patient safety policies.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and continuing education activities.

Required Qualifications:

  • Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
  • Graduate of an accredited Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program.
  • Current BLS certification required.
  • ACLS certification preferred or required based on facility requirements.
  • Minimum 1 year of recent Operating Room (OR) nursing experience preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of perioperative nursing, sterile technique, surgical procedures, and patient safety.
  • Excellent communication, critical-thinking, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems preferred.

Pay Rate
$60.47 - $65.35/hour
