Registered Nurse – Operating Room (OR RN)
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Operating Room Registered Nurse (OR RN) to provide high-quality perioperative nursing care in a surgical setting. The OR RN will support patients before, during, and after surgical procedures, maintain a safe and sterile environment, and collaborate closely with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and surgical team members to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Responsibilities:
• Assess patients preoperatively and verify surgical consent, history, and readiness for surgery
• Prepare the operating room by ensuring appropriate equipment, instruments, and supplies are available
• Serve as a circulator and/or scrub nurse according to training and facility needs
• Maintain sterile technique and ensure adherence to infection control and safety standards
• Monitor patient condition throughout surgical procedures and respond to changes promptly
• Assist the surgical team with positioning, time-outs, specimen handling, and documentation
• Provide postoperative handoff communication to PACU or recovery staff
• Document all perioperative nursing care accurately and timely
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia staff, and interdisciplinary team members
• Ensure compliance with facility policies, regulatory requirements, and best practices
Qualifications:
• Active and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Nursing degree (Associate’s or Bachelor’s preferred)
• Experience in operating room or perioperative nursing preferred
• Strong knowledge of surgical procedures, sterile technique, and perioperative standards
• BLS required; ACLS preferred per facility requirements
• Excellent communication, organization, and critical-thinking skills
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced surgical environment
• Commitment to patient safety, teamwork, and high-quality surgical care
