Registered Nurse (RN) – OR Circulator
Position Summary
Provide comprehensive perioperative nursing care to surgical patients before, during, and after procedures. Coordinate operating room activities, maintain patient safety, and support the surgical team throughout each procedure.
Responsibilities
- Perform preoperative patient assessments and verify surgical procedures, consent, and site.
- Prepare the operating room, equipment, supplies, and surgical instruments.
- Serve as the circulating RN and coordinate care throughout the procedure.
- Assist with patient positioning, skin preparation, and surgical safety checks.
- Maintain accurate documentation and surgical counts.
- Monitor patient condition and respond to changes or emergencies.
- Ensure sterile technique, infection prevention, and patient safety standards are followed.
- Handle specimens appropriately and maintain proper documentation.
- Communicate effectively with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and surgical staff.
- Assist with room turnover and preparation for subsequent procedures.
Qualifications
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing from an accredited program.
- Current RN license in the applicable state.
- Previous Operating Room or perioperative nursing experience required.
- BLS certification required.
- ACLS certification preferred, as applicable.
- CNOR certification preferred.
- Strong clinical, organizational, communication, and critical-thinking skills.
Pay Rate
$52.85 - $57.72/hour
