RN – OR Circulator
Position Summary
Provide skilled perioperative nursing care while coordinating surgical procedures and maintaining patient safety throughout the operative experience. Serve as the primary circulating nurse and collaborate closely with the surgical team.
Responsibilities
- Perform preoperative assessments and prepare patients for surgery.
- Prepare the operating room, equipment, instruments, and supplies.
- Coordinate the surgical procedure and maintain accurate documentation.
- Assist with patient positioning, skin preparation, and surgical site verification.
- Maintain sterile technique and support the scrub team as needed.
- Perform accurate sponge, needle, and instrument counts.
- Monitor patient safety and respond to changes or surgical emergencies.
- Handle and properly document surgical specimens.
- Coordinate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, surgical technologists, and other team members.
- Complete room turnover and maintain infection-control and safety standards.
Qualifications
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
- Previous operating room/perioperative experience preferred.
- BLS required; ACLS preferred/required as applicable.
- CNOR certification preferred.
- Strong knowledge of surgical procedures, sterile technique, and patient safety.
- Excellent communication, organization, and critical-thinking skills.
Pay Rate
$74.19 - $79.07/hour
