Position Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) – Operating Room (OR) Circulator to provide comprehensive perioperative nursing care before, during, and after surgical procedures. The OR Circulator RN will coordinate patient care, maintain a safe and sterile surgical environment, and collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and the surgical team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform preoperative patient assessments and verify patient identity, surgical site, and procedure
  • Prepare the operating room, equipment, instruments, and supplies for surgical procedures
  • Serve as the circulating nurse during surgical procedures, ensuring patient safety and adherence to sterile technique
  • Coordinate communication between the surgical team and other departments throughout procedures
  • Administer medications, IV therapies, blood products, and other prescribed treatments
  • Monitor patient status throughout surgery and respond promptly to changes in condition
  • Perform and verify surgical counts with the surgical technologist
  • Assist with patient positioning, specimen handling, and postoperative transfer to the recovery unit
  • Maintain accurate documentation in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR)
  • Ensure compliance with infection prevention protocols, HIPAA regulations, patient safety standards, and facility policies
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and continuing education activities

Required Qualifications:

  • Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice
  • Graduate of an accredited Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program
  • Current BLS certification required
  • ACLS certification preferred or required based on assignment
  • Minimum 1 year of recent Operating Room circulating experience preferred
  • Strong knowledge of perioperative nursing, sterile technique, surgical procedures, and patient safety
  • Excellent communication, critical-thinking, organizational, and interpersonal skills
  • Experience with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems preferred

Pay Rate
$74.19 - $79.07/hour
