Registered Nurse – OR Circulator/Scrub
Provide comprehensive perioperative nursing care and support surgical procedures as both an Operating Room Circulator and Scrub Nurse. The RN will prepare patients and the operating room, maintain sterile technique, assist the surgical team, and promote safe, efficient patient care throughout each procedure.
Responsibilities
- Prepare the operating room, instruments, supplies, and equipment for surgical procedures.
- Perform preoperative patient assessments and verify surgical documentation and orders.
- Serve as circulating RN by coordinating room activities, maintaining patient safety, and documenting the procedure.
- Serve as scrub RN by preparing and maintaining the sterile field and passing instruments and supplies to the surgical team.
- Perform surgical counts of instruments, sponges, needles, and other supplies.
- Assist with patient positioning, skin preparation, and surgical draping.
- Monitor patient safety throughout the procedure and respond to changes as needed.
- Handle and document surgical specimens according to established protocols.
- Assist with room turnover and ensure equipment and supplies are properly maintained.
- Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, surgical technologists, and other healthcare professionals.
Qualifications
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
- Previous Operating Room/perioperative nursing experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of sterile technique, surgical procedures, and OR safety.
- BLS certification required; CNOR certification preferred.
- Strong clinical, organizational, and critical-thinking skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced surgical environment.
Pay Rate
$66.57 - $71.44/hour
