Position Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Medical-Surgical Unit Registered Nurse to provide comprehensive nursing care to adult patients with a variety of medical and post-surgical conditions. The RN will assess patients, administer medications and treatments, monitor clinical status, provide education, and collaborate with the multidisciplinary healthcare team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform comprehensive patient assessments and develop individualized nursing care plans.
  • Monitor vital signs, neurological status, oxygenation, pain, and changes in patient condition.
  • Administer medications, IV therapies, blood products, and prescribed treatments.
  • Provide wound care, catheter care, specimen collection, and other nursing procedures.
  • Monitor laboratory and diagnostic results and report significant changes to providers.
  • Recognize and respond promptly to patient deterioration and medical emergencies.
  • Assist with admissions, transfers, procedures, and discharges.
  • Educate patients and families regarding medications, treatment plans, disease management, and discharge instructions.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the EMR.
  • Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, pharmacists, therapists, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Follow infection prevention, HIPAA, patient safety, and organizational policies.

Required Qualifications:

  • Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
  • ADN or BSN from an accredited nursing program.
  • Current BLS certification required.
  • Minimum 1 year of recent Medical-Surgical nursing experience preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of adult medical-surgical nursing, medication administration, patient assessment, and care planning.
  • Excellent clinical judgment, critical-thinking, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced hospital environment.
  • Experience with EMR systems preferred.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • BSN preferred.
  • Previous acute-care hospital experience.
  • Experience caring for medical, post-surgical, orthopedic, cardiac, respiratory, and medically complex patients.
  • ACLS certification preferred based on patient population.
  • Strong patient education and discharge planning skills.
  • Commitment to compassionate, patient-centered care.

Pay Rate
$64.28 - $69.16/hour
