Position Summary:
We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Registered Nurse (RN) – Medical-Surgical / Observation / Telemetry to provide comprehensive nursing care for patients requiring medical-surgical treatment, observation services, and continuous cardiac monitoring. The RN will assess patient conditions, administer treatments, monitor telemetry, and collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to ensure safe, high-quality, patient-centered care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments and develop individualized nursing care plans
- Provide nursing care for medical-surgical, observation, and telemetry patients
- Monitor cardiac rhythms and recognize changes requiring immediate intervention
- Administer medications, IV therapies, blood products, and other prescribed treatments
- Monitor patient conditions, vital signs, laboratory results, and responses to treatment
- Provide post-operative care, wound care, pain management, and patient education
- Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs), mobility, and discharge planning
- Collaborate with physicians, case managers, therapists, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in Electronic Medical Records (EMR)
- Respond promptly to changes in patient condition and medical emergencies
- Ensure compliance with infection prevention protocols, HIPAA regulations, patient safety standards, and facility policies
- Participate in interdisciplinary rounds and quality improvement initiatives
Required Qualifications:
- Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice
- Graduate of an accredited Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program
- Current BLS certification required
- ACLS certification required or preferred based on assignment
- Minimum 1 year of recent Medical-Surgical, Observation, or Telemetry nursing experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of medical-surgical nursing, cardiac rhythm interpretation, medication administration, patient assessment, and post-operative care
- Excellent communication, critical-thinking, organizational, and interpersonal skills
- Experience with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems preferred
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced acute care environment
