Position Summary:
We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to provide comprehensive nursing care in a Medical-Surgical (Med/Surg) unit. The RN will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care for patients with acute and chronic medical conditions while collaborating with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to ensure safe, effective, and patient-centered care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments and develop individualized nursing care plans.
- Provide direct nursing care to medical-surgical patients with acute and chronic illnesses.
- Administer medications, IV therapies, blood products, and other prescribed treatments.
- Monitor patient conditions, vital signs, laboratory results, and response to treatment.
- Perform wound care, dressing changes, catheter care, specimen collection, and other nursing procedures.
- Recognize and respond promptly to changes in patient condition and medical emergencies.
- Coordinate patient admissions, transfers, and discharges.
- Educate patients and families regarding medications, treatment plans, disease management, and discharge instructions.
- Maintain accurate documentation in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR).
- Collaborate with physicians, case managers, therapists, pharmacists, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care.
- Ensure compliance with infection prevention protocols, HIPAA regulations, patient safety standards, and facility policies.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and continuing education activities.
Required Qualifications:
- Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
- Graduate of an accredited Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program.
- Current BLS certification required.
- ACLS certification preferred or required based on facility requirements.
- Minimum 1 year of recent Medical-Surgical (Med/Surg) or acute care nursing experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of patient assessment, medication administration, care planning, and medical-surgical nursing practices.
- Excellent communication, critical-thinking, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Experience with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems preferred.
Pay Rate
$51.32 - $56.20/hour
