Position Summary:
We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Registered Nurse (RN) – Medical-Surgical (Med/Surg) to provide comprehensive nursing care for adult patients with acute medical conditions, post-operative needs, and chronic illnesses. The RN will assess patient conditions, administer treatments, coordinate interdisciplinary care, and promote optimal patient outcomes in a fast-paced acute care environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments and develop individualized nursing care plans
- Provide direct nursing care for medical and post-surgical patients
- Administer medications, IV therapies, blood products, and prescribed treatments
- Monitor patient conditions, vital signs, laboratory results, and responses to treatment
- Perform wound care, dressing changes, catheter care, and other nursing procedures
- Recognize and respond promptly to changes in patient condition and initiate appropriate interventions
- Coordinate patient admissions, transfers, and discharge planning
- Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, medications, treatments, and recovery plans
- Collaborate with physicians, therapists, pharmacists, case managers, and other healthcare professionals
- Maintain accurate documentation in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR)
- Ensure compliance with infection prevention protocols, HIPAA regulations, patient safety standards, and facility policies
- Participate in interdisciplinary rounds, quality improvement initiatives, and continuing education activities
Required Qualifications:
- Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice
- Graduate of an accredited Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program
- Current BLS certification required
- ACLS certification preferred or required based on facility requirements
- Minimum 1 year of recent Medical-Surgical nursing experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of acute care nursing, medication administration, patient assessment, wound care, and post-operative care
- Excellent communication, critical-thinking, organizational, and interpersonal skills
- Experience with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems preferred
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
- CMSRN (Certified Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse) or MEDSURG-BC certification preferred
- Experience in acute care hospitals, telemetry, or post-surgical units
- Previous travel or contract nursing experience preferred
- Strong teamwork, adaptability, and commitment to patient-centered care
- Ability to work rotating shifts, weekends, holidays, and on-call schedules as required
Pay Rate
$70,000.00 - $104,000.00/year
