Position Summary:
We are seeking a versatile and experienced Registered Nurse (RN) – Med Surg / Emergency Room (ER) to provide high-quality nursing care in both Medical-Surgical and Emergency Department settings. The RN will assess, treat, and monitor patients with a wide range of medical, surgical, and emergency conditions while collaborating with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to ensure safe, efficient, and patient-centered care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments and prioritize care based on patient acuity
- Provide nursing care for adult medical-surgical and emergency department patients
- Administer medications, IV therapies, blood products, and prescribed treatments
- Monitor vital signs, cardiac rhythms, laboratory results, and patient responses to treatment
- Perform emergency triage, stabilization, and assist with trauma and critical care interventions as needed
- Assist with admissions, transfers, discharges, and patient education
- Respond promptly to medical emergencies, code blue events, and rapid response situations
- Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, respiratory therapists, pharmacists, and other healthcare professionals
- Maintain accurate documentation in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR)
- Ensure compliance with infection prevention protocols, HIPAA regulations, patient safety standards, and facility policies
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and continuing education activities
Required Qualifications:
- Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice
- Graduate of an accredited Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program
- Current BLS certification required
- Current ACLS certification required
- PALS certification preferred or required based on assignment
- Minimum 1 year of recent Medical-Surgical and/or Emergency Department nursing experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of acute care nursing, emergency interventions, medication administration, and patient assessment
- Excellent communication, critical-thinking, organizational, and interpersonal skills
- Experience with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems preferred
Preferred Qualifications:
- BSN preferred
- CMSRN, CEN, TNCC, or ENPC certifications preferred
- Experience in both Med Surg and Emergency Department settings
- Previous travel or contract nursing experience preferred
- Strong teamwork, adaptability, and ability to work in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment
- Ability to work rotating shifts, weekends, holidays, and on-call schedules as required
Pay Rate
$80.28 - $85.16/hour
