Position Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) – LDRP & Level I Nursery to provide comprehensive nursing care throughout the labor, delivery, recovery, postpartum (LDRP) process while caring for healthy newborns in a Level I Nursery. The RN will support mothers and newborns, monitor patient conditions, and collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to ensure safe, family-centered care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide nursing care during labor, delivery, recovery, postpartum, and newborn care
- Monitor maternal and fetal well-being throughout the childbirth process
- Assist physicians and certified nurse midwives during labor and delivery procedures
- Assess and care for healthy newborns in the Level I Nursery
- Administer medications, IV therapies, and treatments as prescribed
- Monitor maternal and newborn vital signs and recognize changes requiring intervention
- Support breastfeeding, newborn education, and postpartum recovery
- Educate patients and families on newborn care, postpartum care, discharge instructions, and infant safety
- Collaborate with obstetricians, pediatricians, lactation consultants, and other healthcare professionals
- Maintain accurate documentation in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR)
- Follow infection prevention protocols, HIPAA regulations, patient safety standards, and facility policies
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and continuing education activities
Required Qualifications:
- Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice
- Graduate of an accredited Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program
- Current BLS certification required
- Current ACLS certification required
- Current NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification required
- Fetal Monitoring certification required or obtained per facility policy
- Minimum 1 year of recent LDRP, Labor & Delivery, Mother/Baby, or Nursery nursing experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of maternal-newborn nursing, labor management, postpartum care, and neonatal assessment
- Excellent communication, critical-thinking, organizational, and interpersonal skills
- Experience with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems preferred
Preferred Qualifications:
- BSN preferred
- RNC-OB, RNC-MNN, or related maternal-newborn certification preferred
- Experience in Labor & Delivery, Postpartum, Mother/Baby, and Level I Nursery settings
- Previous travel or contract nursing experience preferred
- Strong teamwork, adaptability, and patient education skills
- Ability to work rotating shifts, weekends, holidays, and on-call schedules as required
Pay Rate
$87.14 - $92.02/hour
