RN – Labor & Delivery (L&D)
Position Summary
Provide comprehensive nursing care to women during labor, delivery, and the postpartum period. Monitor maternal and fetal well-being, support safe deliveries, and provide education and emotional support to patients and families.
Responsibilities
- Perform maternal and fetal assessments and monitor vital signs.
- Monitor fetal heart rate, contractions, and labor progression.
- Administer medications, IV fluids, and treatments as prescribed.
- Assist with labor, delivery, and postpartum care.
- Recognize and respond to maternal or fetal complications and emergencies.
- Provide newborn care and support immediate postpartum needs.
- Educate patients and families on labor, recovery, breastfeeding, and newborn care.
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation.
- Collaborate with physicians, midwives, and the healthcare team.
- Follow patient safety, infection-control, and clinical standards.
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
- Current and active RN license in the applicable state.
- Previous Labor & Delivery or obstetric nursing experience preferred.
- BLS certification required; ACLS and NRP as applicable.
- Strong clinical, communication, assessment, and patient-care skills.
Pay Rate
$52.85 - $57.72/hour
