Position Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse to provide comprehensive care to women throughout labor, delivery, and the immediate postpartum period. The RN will monitor maternal and fetal status, administer medications and treatments, assist with deliveries, and respond to obstetric emergencies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform comprehensive maternal assessments and monitor vital signs, pain, bleeding, and overall condition.
  • Monitor fetal heart rate, contractions, and maternal-fetal status throughout labor.
  • Provide nursing care during labor, delivery, recovery, and immediate postpartum periods.
  • Assist with vaginal and cesarean deliveries and related procedures.
  • Administer medications, IV fluids, oxytocin, and other prescribed treatments.
  • Recognize and respond promptly to maternal and fetal complications and obstetric emergencies.
  • Assist with inductions, augmentation of labor, fetal monitoring, and other L&D procedures.
  • Provide patient education regarding labor, delivery, pain management, breastfeeding, and postpartum care.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the EMR.
  • Collaborate with obstetricians, certified nurse midwives, anesthesiologists, neonatal staff, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Participate in emergency response, including hemorrhage, fetal distress, hypertension, and other high-risk situations.
  • Follow infection prevention, HIPAA, patient safety, and maternity care protocols.

Required Qualifications:

  • Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
  • ADN or BSN from an accredited nursing program.
  • Current BLS certification required.
  • Current ACLS certification required.
  • Current NRP certification required.
  • Minimum 1 year of recent Labor & Delivery nursing experience preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of maternal-fetal assessment, fetal monitoring, labor management, and obstetric nursing.
  • Excellent clinical judgment, critical-thinking, communication, and prioritization skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • BSN preferred.
  • Experience with high-risk pregnancies, inductions, cesarean deliveries, and obstetric emergencies.
  • Experience with electronic fetal monitoring and interpretation.
  • AWHONN fetal monitoring certification preferred.
  • Experience with postpartum and newborn care.
  • Strong patient and family education skills.
  • Commitment to compassionate, family-centered care.

Pay Rate
$58.18 - $63.06/hour
