RN – Labor and Delivery
Position Summary
Provide comprehensive nursing care to women during labor, delivery, and the postpartum period while monitoring maternal and fetal well-being and responding to obstetric emergencies.
Responsibilities
- Assess and monitor maternal and fetal status throughout labor and delivery.
- Monitor fetal heart rate, contractions, vital signs, and labor progression.
- Administer medications, IV fluids, and other prescribed treatments.
- Assist with labor, vaginal delivery, and cesarean procedures.
- Provide immediate postpartum and newborn care.
- Recognize and respond to obstetric and maternal emergencies.
- Educate and support patients and families throughout the childbirth process.
- Maintain accurate nursing assessments and clinical documentation.
- Collaborate with physicians, midwives, neonatal staff, and the healthcare team.
- Follow patient safety, infection-control, and clinical standards.
Qualifications
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing from an accredited program.
- Current RN license in the applicable state.
- Previous Labor & Delivery or OB nursing experience required/preferred.
- BLS certification required.
- ACLS and NRP certification preferred/required as applicable.
- Strong clinical, communication, and critical-thinking skills.
Pay Rate
$81.81 - $86.69/hour
