Position Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Infusion Registered Nurse to provide safe and compassionate care to patients receiving intravenous medications, fluids, biologic therapies, blood products, and other infusion treatments. The RN will assess patients, administer therapies, monitor for reactions, and provide education throughout the treatment process.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess patients before, during, and after infusion treatments.
- Verify medication orders, patient information, allergies, dosage, and infusion protocols.
- Establish and maintain peripheral IV access and care for central lines and ports as appropriate.
- Administer IV medications, fluids, biologics, chemotherapy, blood products, and other prescribed therapies within scope and specialty requirements.
- Monitor patients for adverse reactions, complications, and changes in clinical condition.
- Respond promptly to infusion reactions and initiate appropriate emergency interventions.
- Educate patients and families regarding treatment, medications, potential side effects, and home care instructions.
- Monitor vital signs and document patient response to therapy.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the EMR.
- Maintain and troubleshoot infusion pumps and related equipment.
- Follow medication safety, infection prevention, HIPAA, and patient safety standards.
- Collaborate with physicians, pharmacists, advanced practice providers, and other healthcare professionals.
Required Qualifications:
- Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
- ADN or BSN from an accredited nursing program.
- Current BLS certification required.
- Minimum 1 year of recent infusion, oncology, or acute-care nursing experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of IV therapy, medication administration, vascular access, and infusion safety.
- Excellent clinical judgment, communication, organization, and patient-care skills.
- Ability to recognize and respond quickly to adverse reactions and emergencies.
- Experience with EMR systems preferred.
Preferred Qualifications:
- BSN preferred.
- Previous outpatient infusion center or ambulatory care experience.
- Experience with biologics, immunotherapy, blood products, antibiotics, or specialty infusions.
- Oncology infusion experience preferred.
- Chemotherapy/biotherapy administration experience preferred where applicable.
- ONS/ONCC chemotherapy and immunotherapy certification preferred for oncology assignments.
- Vascular access experience preferred.
- Strong patient education and symptom-management skills.
Pay Rate
$79,000.00 - $95,000.00/year
