Position Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) – Emergency Department (ED) to provide exceptional nursing care for patients experiencing acute illnesses, injuries, and medical emergencies. The ED RN will perform rapid assessments, prioritize patient care through triage, administer emergency treatments, and collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to deliver safe, timely, and high-quality emergency care.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform rapid patient assessments and prioritize care using established triage protocols
  • Provide emergency nursing care for patients with medical, surgical, traumatic, and behavioral health conditions
  • Administer medications, IV fluids, blood products, and emergency treatments as prescribed
  • Monitor patient conditions, vital signs, cardiac rhythms, and responses to treatment
  • Assist with trauma resuscitations, emergency procedures, and life-saving interventions
  • Recognize and respond promptly to changes in patient condition, code situations, and rapid response events
  • Operate emergency equipment, including cardiac monitors, defibrillators, infusion pumps, and airway management devices
  • Coordinate patient admissions, transfers, and discharges
  • Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatments, medications, and discharge instructions
  • Maintain accurate documentation in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR)
  • Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, laboratory personnel, radiology staff, case managers, and other healthcare professionals
  • Ensure compliance with infection prevention protocols, HIPAA regulations, patient safety standards, and facility policies
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and continuing education activities

Required Qualifications:

  • Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice
  • Graduate of an accredited Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program
  • Current BLS certification required
  • Current ACLS certification required
  • Current PALS certification required or preferred based on facility requirements
  • TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) certification preferred
  • Minimum 1–2 years of recent Emergency Department nursing experience preferred
  • Strong knowledge of emergency nursing, trauma care, triage, cardiac monitoring, and critical care interventions
  • Excellent communication, critical-thinking, organizational, and interpersonal skills
  • Experience with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems preferred

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
  • Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN) certification preferred
  • Experience in Level I or Level II Trauma Centers
  • Previous travel or contract nursing experience preferred
  • Experience caring for pediatric and adult emergency patients

Pay Rate
$64.28 - $69.16/hour
