RN – CVICU/CCU
Position Summary
Provide specialized nursing care to critically ill cardiovascular and cardiothoracic patients in a Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) or Coronary Care Unit (CCU). Monitor complex conditions, manage advanced therapies, and respond quickly to changes in patient status.
Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive assessments and continuously monitor patient conditions.
- Monitor cardiac rhythms, vital signs, hemodynamics, labs, and other critical care parameters.
- Administer medications, IV therapy, blood products, and treatments as prescribed.
- Manage and monitor ventilators, infusion pumps, cardiac monitoring, and other critical care equipment.
- Provide care to patients with cardiac, vascular, and post-operative cardiothoracic conditions.
- Recognize and respond to changes in patient condition and clinical emergencies.
- Assist with procedures and advanced life-support interventions as needed.
- Develop and implement individualized nursing care plans.
- Educate and support patients and families regarding treatment and recovery.
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation.
- Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary healthcare teams.
- Follow infection-control, patient safety, and critical care standards.
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
- Current and active RN license in the applicable state.
- Previous CVICU, CCU, ICU, or critical care nursing experience preferred.
- BLS and ACLS certifications required.
- Strong cardiac assessment, critical-thinking, communication, and clinical skills.
Pay Rate
$75.71 - $80.59/hour
