Position Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) – Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit/Coronary Care Unit (CVICU/CCU) to provide specialized care for critically ill patients with complex cardiovascular and cardiac conditions. The RN will assess patient status, manage advanced life support therapies, administer medications, and collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to deliver exceptional critical care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform comprehensive assessments of critically ill cardiovascular and cardiac patients
- Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized nursing care plans
- Monitor hemodynamic status, cardiac rhythms, ventilator settings, and invasive monitoring devices
- Administer medications, IV infusions, vasoactive drips, blood products, and other prescribed treatments
- Care for post-operative cardiac surgery patients and patients with acute cardiac conditions
- Assist with emergency interventions, code blue events, and rapid response situations
- Operate and monitor critical care equipment, including ventilators, infusion pumps, and cardiac monitoring systems
- Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans and recovery
- Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, respiratory therapists, pharmacists, and other healthcare professionals
- Document patient care accurately in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR)
- Ensure compliance with infection prevention protocols, HIPAA regulations, patient safety standards, and facility policies
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and continuing education activities
Required Qualifications:
- Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice
- Graduate of an accredited Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program
- Current BLS certification required
- Current ACLS certification required
- Minimum 2 years of recent CVICU, CCU, ICU, or Critical Care nursing experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of cardiovascular critical care, hemodynamic monitoring, ventilator management, and cardiac rhythm interpretation
- Excellent communication, critical-thinking, organizational, and interpersonal skills
- Experience with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems preferred
Preferred Qualifications:
- BSN preferred
- CCRN certification preferred
- Experience caring for post-cardiac surgery patients and patients requiring advanced cardiac support
- Experience with CRRT, IABP, Impella, ECMO, or other advanced circulatory support devices preferred
- Previous travel or contract nursing experience preferred
- Strong teamwork, adaptability, and ability to work in a high-acuity critical care environment
Pay Rate
$74.19 - $79.07/hour
