RN Charge – Perioperative OR
Position Summary
Provide clinical leadership and skilled nursing care within the perioperative operating room environment. Coordinate daily surgical operations, support the surgical team, and ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality patient care.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate daily OR activities, staffing, assignments, and surgical schedules.
- Provide perioperative nursing care before, during, and after surgical procedures.
- Serve as circulating RN and support sterile surgical practices as needed.
- Oversee patient positioning, surgical site preparation, counts, and safety protocols.
- Monitor patient status and respond appropriately to clinical changes or emergencies.
- Ensure proper documentation, specimen handling, and compliance with surgical standards.
- Support staff, provide guidance, and assist with training and competency development.
- Coordinate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
- Monitor supplies, equipment, room readiness, and operating room workflow.
- Promote infection prevention, patient safety, and quality improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
- Current and active RN license in the applicable state.
- Perioperative/OR nursing experience required.
- Previous charge or supervisory experience preferred.
- BLS certification required; ACLS and CNOR preferred or as applicable.
- Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and clinical skills.
Pay Rate
$81.05 - $85.92/hour
