Position Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) – Charge Nurse for the Medical-Surgical (Med/Surg) unit to provide clinical leadership while delivering exceptional patient care. The Charge Nurse will oversee daily unit operations, coordinate patient assignments, support nursing staff, and ensure the delivery of safe, efficient, and patient-centered care.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct nursing care to medical-surgical patients as needed
  • Coordinate daily staffing, patient assignments, admissions, transfers, and discharges
  • Supervise and support nursing staff, serving as a clinical resource and mentor
  • Perform comprehensive patient assessments and assist with complex clinical situations
  • Monitor patient care quality and ensure adherence to evidence-based nursing practices
  • Administer medications, IV therapies, blood products, and prescribed treatments
  • Collaborate with physicians, case managers, therapists, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care
  • Respond to emergencies, clinical concerns, and patient care issues on the unit
  • Ensure accurate documentation in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR)
  • Promote compliance with infection prevention protocols, HIPAA regulations, patient safety standards, and facility policies
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives, staff education, and performance improvement activities
  • Assist with orientation and training of new nursing staff

Required Qualifications:

  • Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice
  • Graduate of an accredited Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program
  • Current BLS certification required
  • ACLS certification preferred or required based on assignment
  • Minimum 2 years of recent Medical-Surgical nursing experience, including charge nurse or leadership experience preferred
  • Strong knowledge of medical-surgical nursing, patient flow, staffing coordination, and clinical leadership
  • Excellent communication, leadership, critical-thinking, and organizational skills
  • Experience with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems preferred
  • Ability to lead a multidisciplinary team in a fast-paced acute care environment

Pay Rate
$45.22 - $50.10/hour
