Position Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Cardiology Clinic Registered Nurse to provide comprehensive outpatient cardiac care. The RN will assess patients, assist with cardiac procedures and testing, provide education, coordinate care, and support patients with acute and chronic cardiovascular conditions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform comprehensive nursing assessments and review patients' cardiac history and symptoms.
- Monitor vital signs, cardiac status, and changes in patient condition.
- Assist providers with cardiac examinations, procedures, and diagnostic testing.
- Perform or assist with ECG/EKGs and other cardiac monitoring as appropriate.
- Administer medications, injections, and prescribed treatments.
- Review laboratory and diagnostic results and communicate significant findings to providers.
- Educate patients on medications, cardiac conditions, lifestyle changes, and disease management.
- Provide pre- and post-procedure instructions and follow-up care.
- Coordinate referrals, appointments, testing, and follow-up services.
- Monitor patients with conditions such as hypertension, heart failure, coronary artery disease, and arrhythmias.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the EMR.
- Communicate with physicians, advanced practice providers, pharmacists, and other healthcare professionals.
- Follow infection prevention, HIPAA, patient safety, and organizational policies.
Required Qualifications:
- Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
- ADN or BSN from an accredited nursing program.
- Current BLS certification required.
- Minimum 1 year of recent cardiology, ambulatory care, or acute-care nursing experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of cardiovascular conditions, medications, cardiac monitoring, and patient assessment.
- Excellent clinical judgment, communication, organization, and patient-education skills.
- Experience with EMR systems preferred.
Preferred Qualifications:
- BSN preferred.
- Previous cardiology clinic or outpatient cardiac care experience.
- Experience with EKGs, Holter/event monitors, stress testing, and cardiac procedures.
- Experience caring for patients with heart failure, arrhythmias, hypertension, and coronary artery disease.
- Strong patient education and care coordination skills.
- ACLS certification preferred.
- Commitment to compassionate, patient-centered cardiac care.
Pay Rate
$60.47 - $65.35/hour
