Position Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) – Cardiovascular Care Unit (CVCU) to provide specialized nursing care for patients with acute and chronic cardiovascular conditions. The RN will assess, monitor, and treat patients recovering from cardiac procedures, surgeries, and cardiac events while collaborating with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments and develop individualized nursing care plans.
- Provide direct nursing care for patients with cardiovascular and post-cardiac surgical conditions.
- Administer medications, IV therapies, blood products, and cardiac medications as prescribed.
- Monitor cardiac rhythms, hemodynamic status, vital signs, and patient responses to treatment.
- Recognize and respond promptly to cardiac emergencies and changes in patient condition.
- Assist with the care of patients following cardiac catheterization, angioplasty, pacemaker placement, and other cardiovascular procedures.
- Educate patients and families on cardiac conditions, medications, lifestyle modifications, and discharge instructions.
- Maintain accurate documentation in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR).
- Collaborate with cardiologists, cardiovascular surgeons, respiratory therapists, pharmacists, case managers, and other healthcare professionals.
- Ensure compliance with infection prevention protocols, HIPAA regulations, patient safety standards, and facility policies.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and continuing education activities.
Required Qualifications:
- Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
- Graduate of an accredited Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program.
- Current BLS certification required.
- Current ACLS certification required.
- Minimum 1 year of recent Cardiovascular Care Unit (CVCU), Cardiac Step-Down, Telemetry, ICU, or Critical Care nursing experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of cardiovascular disease processes, cardiac monitoring, telemetry interpretation, and emergency cardiac care.
- Excellent communication, critical-thinking, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Experience with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems preferred.
Pay Rate
$75.71 - $80.59/hour
